Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies - Flan & Simple

I adapted this recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction. My version makes a set of four perfect half-cup cookies.

You'll need:
  • 1 stick butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c chocolate chip

Mix the dry ingredients (flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt) in a large bowl until no clumps remain, and set aside.

Beat butter and sugars on medium high until smooth.  Add egg yolks and vanilla and beat on medium high until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add dry ingredients and beat until blended. Add chocolate chips and blend well.

Grease a 1/2 c measuring cup and pack with dough. Drop onto a baking sheet - 2 per sheet - and form into rounded discs, pressing down slightly.

Bake at 325 for 25 minutes. The middles will harden as they sit.

If you don't eat them fresh out of the oven, microwave 30 seconds on high so they get melty.
