Yes, this is the basic, phase 1, beginner's queso dip. But you'll need this later! It's an easy appetizer to put together, ready in an hour in a slow cooker and everyone will love it. And, there's plenty of room to make it your own, and plenty of ways to use the extras.
You'll need:
- 1 lb Velveeta cheese
- 1 - 12 oz can Rotel, undrained
Dump the Rotel in a small slow cooker. Cut the Velveeta into 8 large chunks, to make it melt quicker, and add that to the slow cooker too. Put on high for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes or so, until melted and incorporated.
In a rush? Put all the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted.
